Braided Fleece Rope

by Stacy
(Bend, Oregon)

I saw this braided fleece rope idea in a pet store and thought it would be great for my dog as a tug toy - and also that I could do it at home for much cheaper! This is great for puppies because they like the texture and they are washable.

I made this for my 100 pound black and tan coonhound so decrease the size for smaller dogs.

Fleece (available at any fabric store - make sure to check the bargain or remnants bin)

- Cut fleece into 1 1/2 to 2 inch strips
- I try to get 4-5 strips per bundle
- Knot the strips together
- Divide into 3 bundles
- Braid to the end
- Tie another knot

Editor's note: Thank you, Stacy! - loved your detailed instructions for this tug-of-war braided fleece dog toy and that you have created something for a bigger dog that can be adapted for smaller doggies too.
