AWESOME!
by: Viki

THANK YOU for taking time to educate children about meeting dogs! That is awesome. Also, do you know about the R.E.A.D. program through the Delta Society? They teach you how to make your dog a R.E.A.D. dog -- a dog of good temperment and one that will become a hero to those kids that have speech problems or are just too shy to read out loud in front of other kids. Then you go to schools or a library and once a week the kids come in and read out loud to your dog. Such a simple thing and yet since the dog doesn't judge them or make fun of any mistakes the children bloom in front of your eyes. All that you have to do is encourage them (the R.E.A.D. program teaches you how to do that) if they stumble on a word. Pretty soon they have their heads held high and are reading well.

I also want to thank you for being in the military! Many, many blessings to you!!

Good job!
by: Suzanna

Wow, Sgt, that's really neat to make those kids so happy!

Charlie must be pretty mellow to be able to deal with all those kids coming up to him and not stealing their crackers away - my black lab sure wouldn't be able to do that!
