cottage cheese and rice. you can add cooked chicken to that too or beef if you prefer. I have heard that yogurt is helpful but I haven't tried that yet. I like different options in case one doesn't work.

I have found that canned pumpkin works for constipation but not the pie filling kind. Just plain canned pumpkin. My dog hates pumpkin so its a hassle to give it to her.

Editor's note: Lisa, that's interesting you should mention cottage cheese and yogurt. We have been giving some yogurt to Comet for the probiotics to help with his digestion. He also gets cottage cheese and seems to have no problem with it.

I have just started making my own yogurt again because it is so much cheaper and very easy to do - simply heat milk till it starts to form bubbles. Rinse some clean plastic yogurt containers or glass bottles with boiling water. Put a couple of tablespoons of plain storebought yogurt that has live cultures in the bottom of each. Cool the milk till it feels about 110 degrees. Add this to the yogurt in the containers. Add lids. Put in a warm place for 7-12 hours. Refrigerate. I use folded towels on the bottom, sides and tops to keep the yogurt warm while its fermenting. Enjoy!
