Dog Leashes and Leads

Dog leashes and leads can easily be made at home.

If yours is like most busy households, leashes often disappear. They get lost, misplaced, or forgotten when you head off in the car. They may also get dragged through the mud, peed on (or worse), etc...

Our suggestion would be to make several to cover all the bases. That way you'll never be without a leash at a critical moment again.

We have one just for the car, one for a backpack or purse, and one to hang up at home - and that's just for one dog!

Here's a brief guide to instructions for various kinds of dog leads we have made thus far:

Dog Bike Leash
Make a simple device for your bicycle where you can safely attach your dog's leash and run him alongside.

Braided Dog Leash Instructions
A simple, three-strand braid using cord makes the rope part of this leash. Just secure the handle and the snap and you're ready!

Comfortable Dog Leash
Tired of your dog's leash cutting into your hand when your big dog pulls? Make a leash that's comfortable to hold no matter how hard your dog jerks.

Easy Rope Leash
Got rope? Need to make a dog leash in a hurry? You're good to go!

Quick Dog Leash
Another fast design, also with a comfortable handle, using nylon rope.

Personalized Dog Leash Out of Yarn
Information about a braided dog leash made of yarn and how to order the low-cost instructions.
