Dog tennis ball chuck toy

by Hailey
(Wisconsin)

Homemade dog tennis ball chuck toy directions:

  • First gather either some rope, fabric, or whatever you have lying around in your house.*

  • Then gather a tennis ball and a utility knife
and cut four small slits in the center of the ball and at the bottom on the other side. They should each look like an X.

  • Next put the fabric through the two slits that should be lined up so now the fabric should be coming out of both ends.

  • Now tie the end of one side of the fabric close to the ball.

  • If you feel you need to hot glue the slits together after the fabric is through go ahead.

  • If you want it to be more decorative you can braid the fabric. In that case you would need to cut the fabric into three.

ENJOY

*Editor's note: Hailey, great idea! We might add that the fabric or rope needs to be at least two feet long if a single strand, and we suggest three feet if you are braiding it. If you don't have a single piece long enough, you can knot pieces together.

Also, remember to let go of the end of the dog tennis ball chuck toy or the ball is going to stay right where you are!
