Doggie Cookies

by Kristen
(19947)

Hello and thank you for reading my recipe.

1. Make dough and put little pieces of chicken on them

2. Use a cookie cutter of your choice to cut them into a shape then place the treats in the oven for 350 degrees.

3. After 15 minutes take them out and let them cool.

4. Then once they have cooled let your dog enjoy their new treats.(Any leftover pieces can be put in a Zip-lock bag or in a plastic container.)

Thank you so much and please be careful when removing cookies from oven :)

Editor's note: Thank you for this Doggie Cookies recipe, Kristen! These sound like both dogs and humans could enjoy them!

Visitors - for the dough, you can use a cup of wheat germ or whole wheat flour, one cup of dry milk, and enough low sodium chicken bouillon or water to get the ingredients to stick together to make a firm dough. We do not recommend adding salt but herbs such as sage, basil, rosemary, thyme or oregano could be good additions and perhaps a little garlic.

You can make your own plastic cookie cutter to create shapes you want.

Make sure to grease your cookie sheet with oil, butter or nonstick spray before putting the dough shapes on there.

Kirsten, you did not say whether the chicken should be cooked first or not. We think if the pieces are slivers, that they could be lightly cooked and the baking will finish them. Otherwise, the chicken might get too tough and dry.

This has made me hungry - I'm off to give these a try and maybe there'll be some left for Pebble!
