This recipe was taken from Hey, Day! by Clea Hantman and Keva Marie.
You need:
3 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 cup bacon fat or meat drippings or lard
1 cup shredded cheese
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease some cookie sheets. Mix together flour, garlic salt, bacon fat(or drippings or lard), cheese, and egg. Slowly add enough milk to form a dough. Put some flour on the counter or your cutting board. Dump the dough on the flour and knead.
Then roll out the dough till it's one inch thick. Take the rim of a glass or a round cookie cutter(or any cookie cutter) and cut out circles. If you want donuts, take a bottle cap and cut circles out of the middle. Place on cookie sheets. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden. Cool and store in an airtight container.
