I wish to play like other puppies

by Marion Sharpe
(Mattawa Ont ario, Canada)

Little Star came to me at two days old .. I had to feed her with an eye dropper ... she was the last one out of her mother who gave birth to 10 puppies that day .. Little Star came out with back and legs really small and cannot move her little back legs at all.

She is 8 months old now and it takes all she can do to stand on her back legs. But she is a happy camper .. I would like to go for a walk with her for she does like to try to play ball, but because her little legs don't work right, we cant .. I'm an older lady with not a lot of money, but I will do anything to help little Star; to see her is to love her .. Please tell me how to get a wheelchair for Little Star so we can go for a walk together and play ball..

Thank you God bless you all ..

Editor's note: Marion, bless you for caring about this little dog. You may want to contact the folks at Handicapped Pets Foundation They say they are a non-profit and donate mobility equipment for dogs in need - but this is based on people donating money to them.

Failing that, you could ask someone to help you make a device using PVC pipe, caster-type wheels, and a sling made out of some type of cloth that hangs from the pipe. Handicapped Pets used to have a design specifically for small dogs and you could ask them for help with this.

Best of luck - please let us know how it works out.
