If your puppy died of Parvo, the virus can remain in your house and yard for around a year. It may very well infect the new puppy.

I too am a skeptic of many dog vaccines. My dog swelled up at the injection site and was very ill for a long time. I only get the Rabies injection every 3 years now.

Good luck with your new puppy. I am interested in the breed of the little guy/girl.
