Important Notice about making this toy by: theAbsoluteNorm
When you make this toy please add several smaller holes on the other end of the ball from the larger hole, by drilling or using nails to puncture the ball. The reasoning for this is to avoid the creation of a vacuum or suction, since it may result in the dogs tongue getting stuck in the ball. An incident involving a similar type of toy was posted on the internet earlier this year where a lab got it's tongue stuck in a toy, and was deprived of blood for a period of time. Unfortunately, the labs tongue had to be amputated resulting in considerable pain and discomfort for the lab and a whole lot of money for the owner.
I'm not saying that this toy post is a bad idea but, please take care when letting your dogs play with toys. As owners we should think of every bad thing that toy can do to our dogs. As we tweak the toys we reduce the probability of harm, i'm not saying that we totally make it 1000% safe, but at least the probability of injury/harm will be more manageable.
Thank you for listening. Keep making, building and cooking. Cheers to you and your pups.
