About Us and Our Magical Journey
Greetings from Jo! I'm here to tell you about our amazing journey with website building.
Before 2006, the only way I had used the Internet was to e-mail people and surf the Web.
So how did I get to be creator of this website?
I've been a dog lover since childhood and wanted an opportunity to share photos of Comet, the Shepherd mix pictured in the photos above. Of all the dogs my husband Stan and I have lived with, he's been our best all around dog (just don't tell him, he thinks highly enough of himself as it is!)
I liked crafting and there had been many things I'd wanted to make for our dogs over the years. Then I stumbled across a company called Site Build It! (SBI) that guaranteed I could turn my knowledge, experience and passion into a web business that made a reasonable amount of money. It was not a "get rich quick" scheme, but a solid way to build equity, and it was doable since I could go at my own pace.
They offered a large number of easy-to-use tools so I could build the website myself from scratch. No need to pay someone else thousands of dollars. I also wouldn't have to waste time learning technical stuff or trying to piece features together from all over the Web.

- To keep people coming back you need to offer quality content. How many sites have you seen that are either link farms or give you only surface information? How many times did you go back?
The folks at SBI have delivered on their promise to provide me with top notch web hosting and technical support. Not only that, but they keep upgrading their tools and offering new useful features, without increasing their fee!
Any time I don't know how to do something, I can check with their staff or go to the marvelous private forum where other people building web businesses around the world share their struggles, experiences and things that work for them. Quite a number have been able to quit their day jobs and I'm getting close!
So How's Business?
I put my first pages up around April 2006. Even with big gaps in effort, this site is now receiving over 22,000 NEW visitors a month, or about 750 a day with about a third coming back for more. Best of all, traffic and income keep growing (now well past our original target of $300 a month). Judging by the results, however, some others are doing considerably better, in the thousands per month.
I wish I'd started website building several years sooner, when I was homeschooling our teenagers and trying to make a part-time income offline every which way. I could have been creating a substantial passive income stream as a Work-At-Home-Mom (WAHM) instead of working for other people with little return.
I hadn't tried any other business startup that cost so little. I'm originally Dutch, so have a real nose for a bargain. The price was right (stays the same year after year even while they add more tools) and they offered a money-back guarantee any time within a year if I wasn't satisfied - the only thing I was risking was my time...
The time spent has been well worth it, in my opinion. Besides income, I've gained skills in creating a site and doing graphics, corresponded with dog lovers worldwide, and learned tons of interesting stuff about the kingdom of dogs!
From my web research, it looks like there's lots more room for good informational websites. Why not consider passing along your knowledge and research about a particular breed or dog-related activity...or any other topic you feel strongly about so both you and others can benefit from your magical journey?
