Things to do

I have to recommend the Whipwhir that Jo introduced here. I had many years of use with that toy for my own dog and still use it with friends' dogs that I "babysit". I am not as active as I used to be, and this is a great alternative to running and playing with a dog that has more energy than I do.

Also, I recently met a gal (on this site as a matter of fact)who has a very active Brittany Spaniel. She made an easy to sew vest and has put weights in it to help with some of the dogs energy.

Another thing I have done for my dog was to start a dog walk group in my area and we find places where the dogs can run and play with each other off leash. Not only do they get to exercise but this keeps the dogs socialized. There have been some very "un-social" dogs join the group but because they wanted to play they became social in no time. I am fortunate that I live in an area where there are many wilderness like places to do this. You may not have areas like this where you live but you can search out dog parks.

Well, these are all the ideas I have. Good luck with your dog and I hope your dog becomes a great companion, as has mine.
